Our Story

Located in New York City, Inwindow Outdoor is an innovative outdoor advertising company that specializes in providing our clients with high profile messages in prime storefront locations. In addition the company is a proud sponsor of the Revlon Run/Walk for Women, united in the fight against women's cancers. The company was founded in 2002.

The Team
Steve Birnhak - Prior to serving as CEO of Inwindow Outdoor, Steve co-founded Swapdrive, turning a prototype file storage technology into a VC-funded company acquired by Symantec (NASDAQ: SYMC). In his previous position as COO of Accudart, he headed up the operations, technology and marketing of a major international sporting goods manufacturer. Before receiving his MBA, Steve successfully started and operated Red Cactus, a corporate communications firm with respected clients such as Wells Fargo Bank and The Princeton Review. Mr. Birnhak received his B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and an MBA in marketing and management with an emphasis in entrepreneurship, from the Stern School of Business at New York University where he was a Dean's Scholar. Steve is also fluent with certain words in 6 languages, requires just 3 hours of sleep per night in lotus pose and only vacations in countries with travel advisories.

Jeff Cohen - Jeff has a long track record of experience in sales. Before starting his own real estate brokerage firm, Jeff was the top salesperson at Citi Habitats, where he quickly built a reputation as 'broker to the stars' and was featured in many publications such as The NY Post's Page Six, People Magazine and The NY Daily News. At Inwindow Outdoor, Jeff started on the real estate side, where he was charged with developing relationships with landlords and procuring properties. He is now Managing Partner and oversees ad sales and overall business development. In his spare time he enjoys getting in traffic accidents, having his boat break down, telling people that sock-ties are in fashion and talking about how he intends to start working out. Jeff attended CW Post.

Gannon Shaffer - Gannon Shaffer's story is a true american tale. Born into foster care, Gannon was adopted into a family of Irish immigrants with six siblings, all of whom were star athletes and valedictorians of their graduating high school class. Genetics weren't as kind to Gannon, for he was often disobedient, lousy at sports and barely earned his diploma. However, playing the role of underdog was something he knew well, and eventually he went on to receive a JD/MBA with honors from UCLA. Often underestimated, as Gannon likes to say, people shouldn't let his white hair, diminutive stature and pleasant demeanor fool them, because when necessary, he can be a pitbull. In his spare time Gannon enjoys hiking, and hanging out at the beach with his friends.

Abigail Werwath - As Director of Operations, Abigail is responsible for making sure nothing falls through the cracks. Whether it's contacting landlords, printers or installers, she is the one who keeps chaos at arm's length. She hails from the sunny mountains of Arizona, where she was a ski instructor, band manager and, when she had time, a banker. In her spare time, she studies yoga, painting and is pursuing a degree in Bi-Lingual, Multi-Cultural Education. For some strange reason, Abigail receives an abundance of cat accessory catalogs in the office.

Justin Gutterman - As Real Estate Operations Manager, Justin has the high-pressure responsibility of converting our inventory into a turn-key, usable form of media. This means Justin gets very little recognition for work well done, and all the blame when things go wrong. Justin's skills stem from a combination of his BFA from the Ringling College of Art and Design, his experience as a beleaguered office manager for Associated International Brokers and an extensive knowledge of beta-blockers and other anti-anxiety drugs.

Ray Lee - Ray is responsible for overseeing all real estate operations at Inwindow Outdoor. Prior to joining the company, Ray served as the Vice President of Sales for SteelTrace, an international software company, which grew 350% in gross revenues during his 4-year tenure. Prior to SteelTrace, Ray served as Senior Director of Business Development at Mobshop Commerce Technologies, where he was responsible for defining and leading the overall business strategy including its product direction, alliances, and sales. Throughout his 12+ years of sales management experience, he has developed and maintained strategic partnerships with IBM, General Electric, Ogilvy and Boeing. He received a B.A degree at the University of Washington. However, all of this pales in comparison to Ray's true accomplishment. He holds the distinction of having the high-score on virtually every arcade game we have on our console in the office.

James Giglio - James' Real Estate background began in Philadelphia as Director of Mortgage Services for a mid-sized financial services agency at which he developed and managed this division which resulted in monthly sales exceeding 1mm a month. His sales and management experience eventually led him to Wall Street. Most recently, James was recruited by Inwindow Outdoor to lead the Delta Force Squadron responsible for launching new markets. James received a Bachelor Degree from The Richard Stockton College of New Jersey. All other information about James is highly classified.

Whitney McGuire - Whitney grew up on a small farm in Western Montana where her values of family, hard work and big game hunting were deeply instilled. Having milked cows, rode Bison and snow-shoed throughout the Rocky Mountains with nothing more than a canteen and some rope, it was only a matter of time before she moved to the concrete jungle to test her survival skills in Manhattan. Whitney spent several years as a Director of Commercial Title Sales and a Managing Director for a Commercial Real Estate firm where she's been passionate about developing lasting relationships with landlords and brokers throughout the city. Somewhere in her past she also worked at Orange County Choppers, made famous from their tv series. In her spare time, she enjoys playing basketball, watching sports and eating a porterhouse at Wolfgang's...all while wearing a great pair of heels.

Matthew Zion - Matthew Zion's real estate career began on the palm tree lined streets of Beverly Hills, California. He worked with many famous names in the industry but later moved his focus to urban renewal in downtown L.A. After representing two of the most successful redevelopment projects in Los Angeles, Matthew joined the Inwindow Outdoor team to oversee our West Coast Deployment Group (WECODEGR). Matthew's expertise in technology and communications was acquired when he received his degree from Indiana University. In his spare time he enjoys the California sunshine and narrowly escaping death with extreme sports such as California Freeway Crossing (CAF-X) and Paparazzi Stalking.

Harley Campbell - Ms. Campbell serves as the Director of Marketing. She's responsible for overseeing the creation and implementation of all communication pieces for the company. A honors graduate of the Kellogg School of Business at Northwestern University, Harley has held senior level marketing positions at Purina and Pets.com. She has made guest apearances on Animal Planet and been a keynote speaker at several media conferences. Her hobbies are running, swimming, fishing and stealing food from co-workers' desks when they're not paying attention.

Rocky Quinn - As Chief Operating Officer, Rocky oversees all advertising installations, ensuring that our clients' advertisements are presented in the best possible manner. No stranger to cleaning windows, in a former life, Rocky received a PhD in Marine Biology from UCLA where he often cleaned aquatic tanks. Not surprisingly, his hobbies are swimming, tending to his Zen rock garden and eating shrimp chips.

Ann Marshall - We've been asking Ann to write her bio for months. So far, we haven't gotten anything so we'll just have to make some stuff up. Ann has an encyclopedic knowledge of show tunes and often breaks into song anytime she's having a conversation that triggers a lyric. Her Ethel Merman impersonation is spot on. Her favorite color is pink and she only wears pink outfits and she insists on using a typewriter instead of a computer.
